In class we will be looking over a few blogs to see how they are set up. After previewing, you will consider what makes a blog a blog. What are its vital components? What is the purpose of the blog? How long are the postings?
Your task will be to post a link to a blog. You will do this by writing a comment after this post. After doing so, provide at least three sentences answering the following question: what makes a blog different than a normal website?
Hi, everyone! I am Maxwell Zhou, a international student from Shanghai, China. I am glad to be in this class.

ReplyDeleteGosh we got some nice people in this class. Well I'm David lol. Most people should know me. I'm from America. A blog is different from most websites because in a blog, someone can say what they want. True in Facebook everything is what you want but that's more of a social site. This site could be social or it could be educational. A blog is also a more efficient website for doing homework or communicating with the teacher.
ReplyDeleteThe difference between a blog and most of the social networks is before we say somethings or comment somethings, we have to think about what the blog is about. We can't just comment everything, and never think about it, this happens with most of the social networks right now. Teenager say things that they don't even think about it. But in blog they have to think like " this blog is about education, so i just say things about education". A blog isn't about social, it also about education, music, or even sport.
ReplyDeleteI think the difference between a blog and a website is that on a blogs, we can write a bout everything we likes, personal thinking, our own stories,.... But on a website, we usually get information and leave comments. A blog is not a social network like a lot of websites are at this time so we cannot write everything and then let people judge it. That's why it's so different from a normal website.
ReplyDeleteChina and Vietnam are becoming more peaceful!!! :D

Hope the problem will be solved completely soon
Blogs are different from social networking websites because they are alot more educational. They have topics as well whereas like on facebook everyone just puts what they are doing or something exciting that happened. On blogs people take time and think about what they are going to put on their blog, they dont just say what first comes to mind...well I wouldn't think very many people do that.
ReplyDeleteBlogs are more interactive. Different people can comment and share their ideas on certain topics. On a normal website people may see the ideas or viewpoint of one person (the author). In a blog one person might give their viewpoint, but other people can comment, agree, and disagree with that viewpoint.
ReplyDeleteBlogs allow people to it interact and discuss things based on their own ideas. Websites often times just give the author's view, but with blogging you can read many different viewpoints as well as give your own. People can learn a lot from reading blogs and it can help them form viewpoints of their own.

ReplyDeleteI think that blogs are cool things because they give people the freedom to give their opionion. They also let you see other people's comments so that you can share in their opinions also. People can learn so much from this blog because they can look at their peers opinions and then form their own due to the stuff they saw.

ReplyDeleteI think blogs are different than normal sites because you can upload information about either educational stuffs or something like tweeter. You can share opinions about a certain topic.

ReplyDeleteBlog is different than normal websites because we can make a new topic, discuss and share our opinions with other people. Blog is good for classes. Teachers can understand their students through student's comments on class blog.

ReplyDeleteA blog is different than other websites because people are constantly responding and leaving their own input on the author’s piece. Blogs allow debate and force the author to defend their opinions. Blogging provides a place for people to speak freely and learn from the different perspectives of people. A blog makes a website more of a “democracy”.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, a blog is more like a direct talking the writer than the other websites; like a diary. It can be more personal and private. Also people can share their various opinions freely through the blog.
Well I don't know how to edit my other comment so I'm just going to make a new one with a link. http://rabulleil.blogspot.com/ With this blog I also learned that sports blogs basically just give u updates on how people are doing and sometimes they add videos and such.

ReplyDeleteLink http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/07/gupta-911-then-and-now/. A blog lets some one express what they are feeling about a certain topic. A normal website just has info on the subjuct but not what people feel about it. A blog is also different than a website because people can comment on each others posts on the subject.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a way for us to use our freedom of speech. We can communicate our thoughts and opinions on different topics. We can share our ideas with other people that we have never met. The internet and blogging is a tool that we have so we can share our opionions with others.
ReplyDeleteThe differences between blog and website is that a blog contains more personal thought that focus on social connections between readers. People can read the article and comment what they think about it rather than just keep it for themselves. From my own perspective, I found blog to be very beneficial.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great way for us to communicate. We can see others opinions and also say what we think. I think blogging is better for educational topics.

ReplyDeleteI think a blog is informative but relaxed. It is a compilation of people's feedback and points-of-veiw on a certain subject, and usually doesnt stray too much. In a blog, a person can give their voice and opinion. Which is what makes it different from a website-- its more informal, like a debate/conversation about the topic. Postings are fairly short and to the point. A blog is a great place to get information and ideas easily accessible from anywhere!! (:
I think a blog is a place where people interact and share their knowledge about something. To make a blog a blog, it should have people who actually commits. The fact that readers can post easier than on website make blogs differ from them. You can share your ideas more speedy then on a website. Also, you don't have to be athorized to post on the blog which makes it more easier for students to interact.
